The magazine: exilio
Writings from exile by Boris Queralt
Opens this section an important collaboration: the exilio magazine, published in the internment camp of Bram in 1939 and whose founder was Cesáreo Borque Echevarría.
According with the daughter of one of the editors, only seven copies were published. It have made two copies per issue, at the beginning only was one, with a handwritten calligraphy impeccable because scarce resources they had. A copy of each issue was saved by the editor of the magazine, Cesáreo Borque, who used the pseudonym of Boris Queralt, and has survived thanks to his daughter, Aurore Borque Lugon-Moulin. We greatly appreciate this valuable collaboration.
The magazine born without any political claim or argumentative, but with a goal of providing an intellectual connection between the exiled of the internment camp. This was stated in an interview realized to Cesáreo. The humour, irony and self-reflection on the context of the time pervade its pages. The success of this magazine is reflected by the many collaborations of poets, artists, etc., that requested to participate on it.
